Course Overview
To achieve the qualification learners must achieve 5 Units:
Unit 1: Prepare for Spectator Events
Unit 2: Assist with the movement of Spectators and Deal with crowd issues at events
Unit 3: Help to Manage & Resolve Conflict
Unit 4: Deal with Incidents at Spectator Events
Unit 5: Support the work of your team and Organisation
To complete the full qualification, you will also be required to undertake NACTSO’s ACT Awareness and ACT Security online modules through our e-learning platform.
WORKPLACE OBSERVATION REQUIREMENT
This qualification requires candidates to be assessed whilst working in an events security role, either employed or on a work placement. Your tutor/assessor will visit you in your place of work to undertake observation of practice and practical assessments around your normal working/placement patterns.
We are only able to complete these assessments in London, so please only enrol for this qualification if you live in a London post code and can attend an event of your choosing (from a list that we provide) in London. If you are currently employed with a security employer based in London, we are able to attend one of your usual working shifts, but it is down to you to arrange this with your employer.
ASSESSMENT & DELIVERY METHOD
You will be assigned a course mentor/tutor to work through an assessed portfolio of evidence. You will be provided with all the required reading materials online to be able to answer the questions in the portfolio. Your course mentor/tutor will visit you in your place of work to support your development.
How Long Does it take to complete the training?
It typically takes learners 4-5 days to complete the theory part of the qualification online. There are then 2 observations that are required in the workplace. We can only offer these observations in London and so we can only offer this qualification to London residents.
